Ricci began her career as a child actor for her roles as Wednesday Addams as well as Addams Family Values (both 1993) in The Addams Family and as Kat Harvey, in Casper. Ricci was able to transition into more adult roles in The Ice Storm (1997) followed by an acclaimed scene in The Opposite of Sex (1998) for which she received the Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
