Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - is a Canadian and American artist and singer. She's released over 20 albums. The music of DiFranco is classified as folk and alternative rock but she also draws influences of hip-hop and jazz. Ani Difranco has been deemed to be a feminist legend and Grammy award-winning. As one of women's first artists of the 1990s, DiFranco created her own label. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian descent, and her mother hails from Montreal. Ani diFranco was the composer and singer of the song 32 Flavors. The track is available on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani DiFranco, that was released in 1996. The song is featured in the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was revealed that she was scheduled to hold a 3-day workshop at a Louisiana ex-slave plantation. A lot of people (including us) weren't affected by her decision to cancel. DiFranco apologized a couple of days afterwards. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger music, but she's collaborated with many different genres and artists that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. Her home is New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is married to Kristen Ford. In 14 years she was creating her own music. She performed them in bars and coffee houses throughout her teens. DiFranco was enrolled in Buffalo State College when she was sixteen and a half years old. She earned her degree from in the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts at that age. It features their System 600 amp and is entirely made of solid woods. It includes a cedar-top mahogany body and sides with an ebony-fretboard. She's home with her two children in New Orleans and Lefty, their sidekick long-legged canine that is never out of the frame. DiFranco admits that she feels mixed emotions regarding her career which spans more than three years.
