BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young; February 19, 1970)[1Bellamy Young is an American actress, producer and singer. She is best known for her character Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). She won an award in 2014, the Critics' Choice TV award for best supporting actress in a drama series. She starred in the 2019 season as Prodigal Son on Fox. Young's acting career started in theatre. Young made her Broadway debut in 1997 when she played Mary in The Life's first lineup. Also, she appeared Off-Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's Musical Merrily We're Rolling Along (1994) as well as the musical of Randy Newman Faust (1995-1996). 3][10] In 1995 she made her television debut with a role that she reprised on"awkward" NBC daytime soap opera Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. The actress guest-starred in Law & Order in 1997 and 1998, playing two role. In 1999 she made her film debut by playing a small role in the crime-drama Black and White and later was a co-star in a number of independent films. Then, in the beginning of 2000, she began appearing in guest-starring characters on several comedy and drama shows on television, such as The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young was a part of more than 30 TV shows from 2000 and 2011.
